Emergency Room RN Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse license eligible to practice in Michigan
• At least 1 year of professional nursing experience; emergency department or acute care experience preferred
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification
• Strong patient assessment, prioritization, communication, and critical-thinking skills
• Epic electronic medical record experience preferred
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts, including every other weekend and holiday

Emergency Department RN Responsibilities

• Assess, triage, and provide nursing care to emergency department patients with varying levels of acuity
• Monitor patient conditions, recognize changes in status, and initiate timely nursing interventions
• Administer medications and treatments safely while following established clinical standards
• Assist with emergency procedures and coordinate patient care with providers and interdisciplinary team members
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic medical record
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, discharge instructions, and follow-up care
• Promote patient safety, comfort, dignity, and compassionate care throughout the emergency visit
