Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN for a night shift position at a Magnet-designated teaching hospital, requiring prior travel experience and CEN preferred.

Details

  • Emergency Department setting at a Magnet-designated academic teaching hospital with 637 staffed beds
  • High acuity patient population including oncology, cardiology, transplant history, and VAD patients
  • Non-trauma unit with a small pediatric population and significant psych/behavioral health caseload
  • 27 ED rooms with ability to flex into hallway beds and a vertical care area staffed by EMS
  • Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-07:30
  • Weekend requirements apply unless otherwise noted on schedule
  • Floating required within the hospital, but not to sister facilities
  • EPIC charting system used

Requirements

  • Active WA or compact RN license required
  • Minimum 2 years of general ED experience required
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC
  • CEN certification preferred
  • Skills in respiratory care, cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and triage required
  • Experience with care of ventilated patients, ICP monitoring, and pulmonary artery lines preferred
  • Strong references from Manager or Director level supervisors preferred

Additional Information

  • Provide emergency care to a diverse and high acuity patient population
  • Must work 2 of 3 major holidays
  • RTO limited to 1 week maximum, with no time off accommodated during orientation week
  • Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
  • Prior UW Medical Center staff must have a minimum 18-month separation before returning as a travel candidate
  • First-time travelers will not be considered for this role
  • Scrubs may be any color
