Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN with a CA license for a night/day rotating shift assignment requiring ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications.
Details
- Work in the Emergency Department of a hospital, treating a combined adult/pediatric patient population
- Facility is STEMI and Stroke certified
- 3x12 variable shifts ranging from 7a-7p, 11a-11p, 3p-3a, and 7p-7a
- Every other weekend rotation required with no on-call obligations
- Float to other campuses within the health system when census permits and within scope of practice
- Epic charting system experience preferred
Requirements
- Active CA RN license required
- Current certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS
- Minimum 1 year of ED RN experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Charge nurse experience preferred
- Skilled in trauma, cardiac, respiratory, neurological, psychiatric, and pediatric emergency care
- Experience with triage, EKG/ECG interpretation, and management of dysrhythmias
- Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and administration of emergency medications
- 2 supervisor references obtained within the past year required
- Copies of all certifications required for consideration
- CA state license must be verifiable via Nursys within the last 2 weeks
Additional Information
- Provide competent, compassionate, and cost-effective emergency patient care in accordance with hospital policies and evidence-based nursing standards
- Fixed 8-week contract with a firm start date and no RTO permitted during the assignment
- Local candidates accepted at the local rate within a 50-mile radius
- Returning employees or travelers must have a one-year separation before reapplying
- 7-year work history verification required for all candidates
- Compliance documents due 10 days prior to start, including lab work completed within 3-5 days of contract signing
- Only one holiday RTO request permitted per contract, applicable to New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas
- Candidates may only submit to one Sutter Health facility at a time
