Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ED RN with a NM or compact license for an 8-week night shift assignment requiring prior large ED experience.

Details

• Work in a 24/7 Emergency Department/Urgent Care setting
• 12-hour night shift schedule, 1845-0715
• 3 shifts per week, 36 hours per week
• 8-week contract only
• Floating between departments and/or local locations within 20 miles required

Requirements

• Active NM or compact state RN license
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications required, completed through American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross
• ADN or ASN required
• Minimum two years current experience in a large ED
• Must have successfully completed at least one 13-week travel assignment
• Must pass an onsite Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia (BCA) test before starting assignment, with one retest opportunity allowed

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and documentation of individual patient needs
• Coordinate care through collaboration with patients, families, and the healthcare team
• Initiate and document care per established protocols and standards
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed and document per policy
• Identify and address patient and family learning and discharge needs throughout care episode
• Provide clinical supervision of LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel
• Complete population-specific and protocol education/competency testing per unit standards
• Epic EMR experience preferred but not required; onsite training provided
• Must be a team player, flexible, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be considered, no local candidates allowed
• Former PHS perm staff must wait one year before being eligible for a travel assignment
