Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN with active CA licensure and at least 1 year of ED experience for a fast-paced combined adult/pediatric ER.

Details

• Work in a combined adult/pediatric General Emergency Department
• 3x12 variable shifts ranging from 7a-7p, 11a-11p, 3p-3a, and 7p-7a
• Every other weekend rotation required with no on-call obligations
• Float to other campus locations within scope of practice as census requires
• Epic charting system preferred
• STEMI and Stroke Certified facility

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Current BLS (AHA), ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of ED RN experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• Skilled in triage, cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and 12-lead EKG interpretation
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and emergency medication administration
• Competency in trauma, orthopedic, neurological, respiratory, and psychiatric emergency care
• Two supervisor references obtained within the past year required for consideration

• Provide competent, compassionate, and cost-effective patient care in accordance with evidence-based nursing practice and hospital standards
• This is a firm 8-week contract with no RTO permitted during the assignment
• Only one holiday RTO request may be approved per contract
• Holiday coverage required for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
• Local candidates accepted at the local rate under a 50-mile radius rule
• Returning staff or travelers must have a 1-year separation before returning to this facility
• First-time travelers are not being considered for this position
