Job Summary: The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Emergency Department (ED) provides direct and indirect safe, therapeutic care for an assigned group of patients. Care is individualized and age-specific, utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. The RN collaborates with patients, families, and healthcare team members to develop and adapt comprehensive care plans, ensuring quality outcomes and patient satisfaction. The role includes patient advocacy, education, and coordination of care to meet diverse needs and achieve holistic, individualized goals.

Required Qualifications:

• Active CA RN license
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH, PALS, CPI or comparable certification (must be an 8-hour class with at least half of the class in person)
• Minimum of 50+ bed ED experience
• At least three years of recent RN experience
• At least two years of recent RN experience in a specialty area
• BSN or ADN required

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in managing complex, high-risk clinical situations
• Proficiency in adult-learning theory for patient and family education
• Strong communication and coordination skills with interdisciplinary teams
