Responsibilities
  • Perform routine, stat, portable, and extended EEG studies following established neurodiagnostic protocols
  • Prepare patients for testing by explaining procedures and ensuring comfort throughout the examination
  • Apply scalp electrodes accurately using the International 10-20 electrode placement system
  • Monitor and record brain wave activity while recognizing abnormalities and technical artifacts
  • Conduct activation procedures such as hyperventilation and photic stimulation when appropriate
  • Maintain accurate patient records and complete detailed procedure documentation
  • Troubleshoot EEG equipment and perform routine quality assurance checks
  • Collaborate with neurologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient care
  • Maintain compliance with infection prevention, patient safety, and departmental standards
  • Ensure proper cleaning, maintenance, and storage of EEG equipment and supplies
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited Neurodiagnostic or EEG Technology program preferred
  • Current R. EEG T. (Registered Electroencephalographic Technologist) credential preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of recent EEG Technologist experience
  • Current BLS Certification required
  • Experience performing routine, portable, and long-term EEG monitoring
  • Strong knowledge of neurophysiology, EEG waveforms, and neurological disorders
  • Excellent patient care, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently in a clinical environment
  • Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to diagnostic excellence
