Must-Have:
3 years of experience at a level 1 trauma or teaching facility with SEEG (stereo) and SPECT in an epilepsy monitoring unit within the last two years required.
Pediatric experience preferred.
Description:
Evening 8-hour shifts from 3 PM to 11:30 PM, Monday to Friday, with rotating weekends.
No call required.
The EEG Technician will perform diagnostic testing procedures including, but not limited to, electroencephalograms (EEG), evoked potentials (EP), nerve conduction studies (NCS), long-term monitoring for epilepsy (LTM), and continuous EEG monitoring in intensive care.
This role involves analyzing data during recording to ensure valid and interpretable information is obtained.
The technologist must have knowledge in clinical neurology and be able to obtain relevant patient histories, guiding the conduction of tests.
Studies may be performed in various settings, including outpatient laboratories, emergency rooms, operating rooms, intensive care units, special monitoring units, or at patients' bedside.
Candidates will be evaluated on their ability to pass a telemetry exam with established criteria.
Passing scores of 80% or higher are required for both adult and pediatric assessments regarding lethal rhythms and sinus bradycardia.
If candidates fail twice, they must complete a cardiac interpretation review course before a third attempt is permitted.
Failure to pass after three attempts will result in cancellation of the assignment.
