Description:
Days, 10-hour shifts, Monday - Friday, 7 AM - 5:30 PM, with some weekend work required.
No call duty is required.
Candidates without R EEGT will be considered if they have a minimum of 3 recent years of experience in a level 1 trauma or teaching facility with SEEG (stereo) and SPECT in an epilepsy monitoring unit within the last two years.
The Neurodiagnostic Technologist is a multi-skilled healthcare professional.
They may perform diagnostic testing procedures, including electroencephalograms (EEG), evoked potentials (EP), nerve conduction studies (NCS), long-term monitoring for epilepsy (LTM), and ICU and continuous EEG monitoring.
This work is performed under the supervision of senior staff and a physician responsible for interpreting and correlating clinical results.
The technologist must analyze data during recordings to ensure validity and interpretability.
Relevant patient history is obtained to guide test conduction.
Knowledge of clinical neurology is essential in this role.
Work settings may include outpatient laboratories, emergency rooms, operating rooms, intensive care units, and special monitoring units.
A combination of 3 years of training and experience as a clinical Electroneurodiagnostic Technologist is required.
Experience with pediatric cases is preferred.
Technologists are expected to use specialized equipment effectively.
They may be required to float as needed and have minimum experience criteria.
The position requires passing a telemetry exam before commencing work.
A 100% identification of lethal rhythms is necessary on the adult exam, with no incorrect answers on specific questions.
A passing score of 80% or higher is required on both adult and pediatric exams.
Failure to meet the passing criteria may result in assignment cancellation.
