Job Title: Neurodiagnostic Technologist Level 1 / EEG Technologist

Job Summary:
The Neurodiagnostic Technologist Level 1 performs routine and complex neurodiagnostic procedures under moderate supervision while following established standards and departmental protocols. The role provides technical support for inpatient and outpatient EEG services, including EMU, ICU, pediatric, and adult patient populations. The technologist is responsible for accurate testing, documentation, patient care, equipment operation, and supporting departmental goals, quality initiatives, and program development.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform standard and complex EEG/neurodiagnostic procedures according to established guidelines.
  • Conduct EEG testing for inpatient and outpatient populations.
  • Provide neurodiagnostic services for EMU, ICU, pediatric, and adult patients.
  • Prepare patients, explain procedures, and ensure patient comfort and safety during testing.
  • Apply electrodes, monitor recordings, troubleshoot technical issues, and obtain high-quality diagnostic data.
  • Complete accurate documentation for patient procedures and departmental records.
  • Maintain compliance with departmental standards and safety practices.
  • Assist with training and technical guidance for students and new team members.
  • Support the development and implementation of Neurodiagnostic Lab and Epilepsy Unit programs.
  • Communicate effectively with physicians, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary teams.

Schedule:

  • Shift: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
  • Schedule: 5x8-hour shifts
  • Weekends and holidays: As needed
  • On-call: Required

Required Experience:

  • Minimum 1 year of Neurodiagnostic/EEG experience.
  • Must have both inpatient and outpatient EEG experience.
  • Experience with adult and pediatric patient populations preferred.

Preferred Experience:

  • Familiarity with Natus and Nihon Kohden EEG systems.

Patient Population:

  • Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU)
  • ICU patients
  • Adult and pediatric patients

Required Skills:

  • Knowledge of EEG and neurodiagnostic procedures.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to complete accurate clinical documentation.
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office or Google productivity tools.

Education Requirements:

  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • Associate Degree in Electroneurodiagnostic Technology or equivalent preferred.

Required Certifications & Licensure:

  • ABRET EEG Certification (or eligible for ABRET registration).
  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
