Job Summary: Electrophysiology (EP) Technician position available in Louisville, Kentucky. This role involves providing specialized technical support for electrophysiology procedures within a dedicated laboratory setting. The technician will be responsible for scrub and monitor all EP cases, ensuring adherence to clinical protocols and contributing to patient care.
Job Details:
Location: Louisville, Kentucky
Schedule: Days shift, 8 hours per day, minimum of 40 hours per week
Required Qualifications: Certifications include BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), and a valid license or national certification such as ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) or RCIS (Radiologic Cardiovascular Intervention Specialist); candidates should have at least 2 years of electrophysiology (EP) experience
Desired Skills: Ability to scrub and monitor all EP cases, familiarity with unit-specific equipment (Phillips, Siemens, St. Jude, Steritaxis), proficiency with electronic medical records system (Cernero), and experience with monitors, IV pumps (Alaris), and medication dispensing (Omnicell)
Support Staff: Collaboration with nurse manager, charge nurse, respiratory therapists, hospitalists, intensivists, nurse practitioners, fellows, and cardiologists involved in patient care
Technology/Equipment: Proficient in using Cath Lab equipment and supportive devices including monitors and medication infusion systems
Orientation: 4-5 days of facility and unit-specific orientation
Floating: Float to Cath Lab as needed
Notes: Scrub color will be provided; free badge-access parking garage is available
Additional Responsibilities: Support within the department by scrubbing and monitoring all EP cases
