  • Attire: Navy scrubs

Emergency Department RN Job Requirements

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • At least 1 year of professional nursing experience; emergency department nursing experience strongly preferred
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
  • Ability to provide safe, efficient, and compassionate patient care in a fast-paced emergency setting
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and customer service skills
  • Preferred emergency nursing certifications include TNCC, ENPC, NRP, CEN, CPEN, or CTRN
  • Flexibility to support med-surg coverage when needed, although floating is limited

Emergency Department Nurse Responsibilities

  • Assess, triage, and care for patients presenting with a broad range of urgent and emergent conditions
  • Perform standard emergency department nursing procedures in accordance with clinical guidelines and department protocols
  • Administer medications and treatments, monitor patient responses, and promptly communicate changes in condition
  • Collaborate with providers and fellow nurses to coordinate timely, patient-centered care
  • Maintain accurate electronic health record documentation in Cerner
  • Support a positive patient experience through clear communication, empathy, and professionalism
  • Participate in rotating weekend coverage and assist with unit needs during fluctuating patient volumes
