Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring a NC or compact RN license and at least 1 year of ED experience.

Details

  • Work in a high-paced, high-acuity, rural Emergency Department at a Joint Commission accredited Duke Lifepoint hospital
  • 205-licensed-bed facility with a 20-bed ED, the region's largest and most comprehensive ED with a free-standing ED
  • Care for a varied patient population including adult, geriatric, and pediatric cases
  • Patient ratio of 1:4, increasing to 1:5 during surge conditions
  • Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
  • Scheduled for 36 guaranteed hours per week over a 13-week assignment
  • Must work 6 weekend shifts within a 6-week period, with every other weekend required
  • No on-call requirements
  • Uses Paragon EHR system

Requirements

  • Active RN license (NC or Compact) required
  • Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department experience required
  • AHA certifications required
  • Peripheral IV, Stroke, SEPSIS, and STEMI experience preferred
  • Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration
  • Active licensure verification via Nursys required at time of consideration

Additional Information

  • Facility holds an 'A' rating on the LeapFrog Hospital Safety survey
  • Facility features the region's largest and most advanced ICU and PCU
  • Scrub colors accepted are black, navy, and royal blue
  • Candidates must reside 60 miles or greater from the facility to be considered for travel positions
  • Candidates cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months
  • Candidates cannot be employed elsewhere on a full-time basis while on assignment
