Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring 2+ years of ER experience and multiple specialized certifications.

Details

• , Work in a 21-bed Emergency Department with 12 telemetry beds, 3 behavioral health beds, and 5 fast track rooms
• Treat patients of all ages presenting with conditions such as COPD, DKA, sepsis, cardiac emergencies, neurological emergencies, and stroke
• Maintain a 1:5 patient ratio
• Utilize emergency equipment including basic telemetry/EKG monitoring
• Documentation completed in Cerner EHR
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Work every other weekend and some holidays
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required on an as-needed basis
• Acute care hospital setting located within a Joint Commission Accredited Primary Stroke Center

Requirements

• Active RN license (NC or Compact) currently in hand
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department nursing experience required
• ADN required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and de-escalation training (HWC, CPI, or MAB)
• Skilled in emergency nursing, trauma care, resuscitation, IV therapy and IV drips, oxygen demand support, blood product administration, and basic telemetry/EKG interpretation
• Psychiatric ER experience preferred
• Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration
• Active Nursys licensure verification and copies of required certifications needed for consideration

• Provide emergency nursing care in a fast-paced, dynamic environment as part of a collaborative care team
• Must be a strong multi-tasker who thrives under pressure
• Scrubs may be any color; open-toed footwear, spandex pants, and sweatshirts are not permitted
• Weekly orientation held on Mondays
• Must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible for the travel pay rate
• Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
• Candidates cannot be employed elsewhere on a full-time basis while on assignment
