Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a fast-paced Inpatient Observation Unit position requiring 2 years of relevant acute care experience and a GA or compact RN license.

Details

• 28-bed Inpatient Observation Unit located near the ED in a Level 1 trauma center
• Cares for medical beds, trauma overflow beds, and mid-hold patients with lower to higher acuity levels
• Night shift schedule with 12-hour shifts, 3 shifts per week
• May be required to float to other areas of competency
• No on-call responsibilities

Requirements

• Active GA or compact RN license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required; TNCC preferred
• Minimum 2 years of experience in the specialty within an acute care setting
• Proven experience in high-pressure, large-scale trauma environments
• Background in high-volume hospitals managing diverse and severe cases required

• Fast-paced environment with frequently changing patient acuity
• Works in a high-acuity, inner-city Level 1 trauma center handling complex and challenging cases
• Holiday coverage is an expectation
• Expected to work 4 weekend shifts per month
• Block scheduling is generally not approved
• Accepts local candidates at the same rate as the travel rate
