Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced ED RN for a 13-week travel assignment at a Level II trauma center in Asheville, NC, requiring at least 1 year of ER experience and multiple certifications including TNCC and NIHSS.
Details
- Emergency Department (ED) with 101 beds in a Level II trauma center and comprehensive stroke center
- Patient ratio is typically 4:1 for medical patients, up to 7:1 for behavioral health holds
- Techs are available and work in cardiac monitoring, triage, and internal processing; unit clerks are present on days and nights
- Equipment includes Baxter infusion pumps and GE monitors
- Documentation via Cerner
- Day shift: 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM
- Every other weekend required; scheduling must meet department needs and block scheduling is not available
- No floating outside of the ED, but must be willing to float to all sections within the ED
Requirements
- Active NC or Compact RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of total RN experience with at least 1 year in an ER setting
- Experience in a Level II trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, or high-volume ED (100,000+ annual visits) preferred
- Required certifications (all must be in hand prior to start): BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, and NIHSS
- ENPC required within 90 days of start
- Teamwork-oriented with the ability to coach and provide real-time feedback
- Cerner experience preferred
- US SSN and DOB required for consideration
- One professional reference required (two required if from Florida or Missouri)
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include delivering patient-centered care, updating patient boards, and ensuring patients are informed throughout their visit using AIDET communication standards
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible for this position
- Previous HCA experience is preferred
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
- Navy scrubs required
