Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Emergency Department night shift position in St. Louis, MO, requiring 2+ years of ED and trauma experience at a Level 2 Trauma Center.
Details
- Work in a 61-bed Emergency Department at a Level 2 Trauma Center, Joint Commission Comprehensive Stroke Center, and Level 1 STEMI Center
- Night shift hours: 19:00–07:30
- Every third weekend required
- No on-call requirements
- Float to similar or lower acuity units as needed
- 1:4 patient ratio
- EMR: Epic
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active MO RN license or compact license eligible for Missouri licensure required
- Required certifications (AHA only): BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, TNCC
- Minimum 2 years of ED experience in an inpatient setting
- Trauma experience required
- No employment gaps of 90 or more days within the past 12 months
- Valid U.S. Social Security Number required (Canadian SINs not accepted)
Additional Information
- Performs direct patient care for all age groups including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care
- Coordinates patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient outcomes
- Physical demands include standing and walking most of the shift, frequent bending, stooping, and lifting/turning patients with assistance; must be able to push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs and pinch up to 15 lbs
- High-risk exposure to blood and body fluids
- Night shift orientation takes place on day shift — candidate must be available the full orientation week
- Black scrubs required
- Flu vaccination is required from November 1 through April 1; exemptions must be Mercy-approved and declinations are not accepted
- RTO of up to 5 days is allowed but must be made up during the assignment; only 1 holiday RTO request permitted per assignment
- Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are eligible but subject to a reduced bill rate and a limit of 3 consecutive 13-week contracts at the local facility
