Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department night shift position requiring a VA or compact RN license and at least 1 year of ED experience.

Details

• Work in a General Emergency Department serving combined Adult/Pediatric patients in a Non Trauma ED setting
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00-7:00
• Every other weekend required
• Charting via Meditech (preferred)

Requirements

• Active RN license (VA or Compact) currently in hand
• Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department experience required
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI, NIHSS, and PALS
• TNCC certification preferred
• Skills in EKG reading/monitoring, blood product administration, IV therapy, CVA care, PPE compliance, and triage
• No previous permanent employment with the facility within the past 24 months

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care to critically ill and injured adult and pediatric patients in a fast-paced ED environment
• Utilize the latest monitoring equipment for safe and efficient patient care
• Fit testing required, including shaving for proper mask fit unless a pre-approved medical exemption is obtained
• Zero-tolerance drug policy in effect; medical marijuana cards are not accepted
• Drug screening required both during compliance and again on day one onsite
• RTO expectations follow holiday coverage tiers based on number of holidays within the assignment period
• General RN orientation occurs every other Monday
• Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted
• First-time travelers may be considered depending on relevant ED experience
