Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Freestanding Emergency Department position requiring an OK or compact RN license and prior ED or critical care experience.

Details

• Freestanding Emergency Department setting
• Cares for a variety of patients with health issues ranging from simple to complex
• Performs EKGs, breathing treatments, phlebotomy, wound cultures, and Point of Care testing
• Administers medications and initiates, regulates, and monitors IV infusions and blood products
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week, 36 hours per week

Requirements

• Active RN License (Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or multistate compact eNLC)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Minimum of one year of RN experience required
• Two years of Emergency Department or Critical Care experience preferred
• Associate's Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to respond effectively to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors

Additional Information

• Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients and documents nursing interventions and treatment responses
• Assists physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
• Monitors physiological data and intervenes as needed
• Communicates care plans with patients and families and provides discharge education
• Delegates tasks to support staff and coordinates referrals as needed
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be considered
• Compliance documentation must be completed promptly, as start dates will not be pushed for late clearance
• Returning workers may only extend a contract once for a total of 26 weeks, requiring a 6-month separation before reapplying
