Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN with charge nurse capabilities and required MN licensure to join a busy urgent care and ED setting treating adults and pediatrics.

Details

• Emergency Department/Urgent Care setting with 17 staffed beds
• Treats both adult and pediatric patients with common urgent care and ED diagnoses
• Patient ratio of 1:4 across days, nights, and weekends
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM-7:30 AM)
• Required to work every third weekend
• No on-call requirements
• No floating outside of scope, though float within the hospital or affiliate hospitals may be required as needed
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active MN RN license required
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of ED experience required
• Strong charge nurse capabilities required
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Skilled in triage, conscious sedation, and a broad range of ED conditions including pediatrics, psychiatric, respiratory, neurological, and cardiac monitoring
• 1 supervisor reference required for consideration
• Copy of certifications, Nursys verification, date of birth, SSN, and RTO required for consideration

Additional Information

• Care for a wide range of ED and urgent care conditions including abdominal pain, respiratory infections, seizures, psychiatric emergencies, and trauma
• Perform triage, conscious sedation, and cardiac monitoring including EKG interpretation and dysrhythmia management
• Navy blue scrub color required
• First-time travelers are accepted
• Candidates must live at least 100 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Returning staff must have been separated from perm employment for at least 3 months prior to starting
• RTO should ideally be no more than 5 days
• Pending license not accepted
