Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring CA RN licensure, BSN, and pediatric ED experience.

Details

• Combined adult/pediatric Emergency Department in a Level I Trauma Center
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:30 AM)
• 1:4 patient ratio
• Epic charting system required
• Ability to float to other UCSF facilities within a 75+ mile radius when needed

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required at time of consideration
• BSN required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS
• Preferred certifications: CPI, NRP, OCN, SANE, TNCC
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience required
• Pediatric ED experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Community hospital experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred and must be noted in employment history
• Trauma Level I and Level II experience preferred
• Prior travel assignment experience required within the last 12 months
• Two professional references from most recent employer required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care across a wide range of adult and pediatric conditions including trauma, cardiac, respiratory, neurological, psychiatric, and orthopedic emergencies
• Manage critical interventions such as intubation, chest tube care, arterial line management, and continuous IV medication administration
• Perform triage, EKG interpretation, splinting, and isolation precaution protocols
• Skilled in managing ventilated, sedated, and multisystem organ dysfunction patients
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travel candidates
• Any prior employment with University of California medical facilities or their acquired facilities must be disclosed with dates, units, and manager names for rehire eligibility review
• All requested time off must be disclosed at time of consideration and approved by the manager prior to start
• No time off permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment
• No mid-contract time off requests accepted
