Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN for a fast-paced 32-bed ED requiring Cerner experience and NC or compact RN licensure.

Details

• 355-bed hospital housing a Brain Center, Cancer Center, Heart Center, Lung Center, Orthopedics, General & Vascular Surgery, Surgical Weight Loss, Women's Center, and Level 3 NICU
• 32-bed Emergency Department that receives all trauma cases though not officially trauma designated
• Patient population spans birth to death
• Patient ratios of 1:4 to 1:5
• Uses critical care equipment and the Cerner EMR
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Weekend rotation every other weekend
• Call requirements involve push back hours depending on census
• Floating required to areas where competencies are held

Requirements

• Active RN license (NC or Compact) required
• Current certifications: ACLS, PALS or ENPC, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of ED nursing experience required
• Cerner EMR experience required
• Strong critical thinking and patient/family communication skills required
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with stamina required
• Experience with strokes, STEMIs, and trauma preferred

• Provide emergency care across a wide range of diagnoses and treatments
• Energetic, knowledgeable personality fit preferred by the unit
• Must start on one of the facility's designated 2026 orientation dates
• Scrubs of any color currently accepted; hoodies and inappropriate t-shirts not permitted
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this role
• Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
• Candidates cannot be employed elsewhere full time while on assignment
• Candidates must reside 60 miles or greater from the facility to qualify for the travel rate
