Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring a pediatric ED skillset and prior travel nursing experience.

Details

  • Main Emergency Department setting treating a combined adult and pediatric patient population
  • Patient population includes neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
  • Maintains a 1:4 patient ratio across days, nights, and weekends
  • Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00
  • Required to work every other weekend
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Epic charting experience preferred but other EMR experience accepted

Requirements

  • Active RN license (AZ or Compact) required in hand to be considered
  • Minimum 3 years of ED experience required
  • Pediatric ED skillset required, with strong preference for dedicated PEDS ED experience (strong PEDS experience in a mixed ED setting is acceptable)
  • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, TNCC, ENPC, PALS
  • Preferred certifications: CPI, PCAR
  • Required skills: management of dysrhythmias, blood product administration, phlebotomy, IV starts, continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors, procedural sedation administration, CPAP/BiPAP management, care of ventilated patients, isolation precautions/PPE, triage, and pediatric skillset
  • Preferred skills: Level I Trauma Center experience, arterial line management, central line care/management, neurological care, ortho-trauma, head injury, near drowning, spinal cord injury, ABG interpretation, gunshot wounds, and traumatic amputation care
  • Prior travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered
  • Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred

Additional Information

  • Provide emergency care to a combined adult and pediatric patient population in a fast-paced ED environment
  • Candidates must live at least 75 miles from the facility, as local candidates within this radius are not accepted
  • Blackout dates for RTO include 9/4-9/7 and 10/29-10/31
  • First-time travelers will not be considered for this role
