Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for an Emergency Department position requiring an active KY or compact RN license and BLS certification.

Details

• Work in a 19-bed, 4-chair ED with a clinical decision unit
• Cares for patients of all ages and acuity levels
• Dedicated spaces for critical care and fast-track treatment of non-emergent patients
• Evening shift schedule, 11am-11pm
• Works 3 days per week at 12 hours per day, totaling 36 hours per week

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted RN license (KY or compact) required
• BLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• ACLS and PALS or ENPC certification required within 6 months of hire
• ADN or ASN required, BSN preferred
• No prior nursing experience required, though previous experience is preferred
• Ability to assess age-specific patient safety issues and implement appropriate safety devices

Additional Information

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and document in accordance with scope of practice and hospital policy
• Facilitate admission, transfer, and discharge activities including discharge teaching and coordination with Case Management
• Provide patient and family-centered education and individualized treatment planning
• Delegate and oversee tasks performed by other care team members
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement activities and core measures such as patient satisfaction, falls, and pressure ulcer prevention
• Collaborate effectively with an interdisciplinary care team in a fast-paced ED environment
