Travel Nursing Job Details

• Position: Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) / Emergency Department Nurse
• Employment Type: Travel nursing contract
• Location: Pasadena, Texas, near the Houston metropolitan area
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,910–$2,010
• Start Date: November 2, 2026
• End Date: February 1, 2027
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Schedule: Three 12-hour night shifts per week, 3:00 p.m.–3:00 a.m.
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Weekend Requirement: As needed or every other weekend, based on preference and scheduling needs
• On-Call: None
• Healthcare Setting: Freestanding emergency department with approximately 22 beds and an average patient ratio of 1:4
• Charting System: Meditech, transitioning to Meditech Expanse
• Floating: May be required to support another freestanding emergency department location
• Dress Code: Royal blue scrubs and closed-toe shoes

Emergency Room RN Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• At least 1 year of emergency department or acute care nursing experience
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
• Current TNCC, NIHSS, and CPI certifications
• Strong emergency assessment, prioritization, and critical-thinking skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a high-acuity, patient-focused emergency care environment
• ENPC and NRP certifications preferred
• Ability to follow department policies, regulatory standards, and professional dress requirements

Emergency Department RN Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to patients presenting with a broad range of emergency conditions
• Perform focused assessments and reassessments, support triage, and promptly escalate changes in patient status
• Initiate IVs, obtain blood specimens, and administer medications and treatments as ordered
• Assist with moderate sedation procedures and monitor patients before, during, and after sedation
• Perform and assist with splinting and other emergency department procedures
• Use bedside cardiac monitoring, defibrillation equipment, ventilatory support equipment, and other emergency care technology appropriately
• Document patient care accurately in the electronic medical record
• Collaborate with providers and the interdisciplinary team to support efficient patient flow and positive patient outcomes
• Maintain a strong focus on teamwork, professionalism, patient dignity, and an exceptional patient experience
