Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Emergency Department position at a Level 3 Trauma facility in Carlsbad, NM, requiring 2+ years of ED experience and multiple certifications including TNCC and ENPC.
Details
- Work in the Emergency Department of a Level 3 Trauma hospital in Carlsbad, NM
- Night shift schedule: 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM
- Patient ratio of 4:1
- Floating is required
- On-call requirement: must be available at least 2 hours prior to shift start
- EMR: MedHost (EDIS)
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active NM or Compact RN license required
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and ENPC — no certifications may expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start date
- NRP preferred
- Minimum 2+ years of recent Emergency Department RN experience required
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
- Valid driver's license required for consideration
- US Social Security Number required — Canadian SINs are not accepted
- Fingerprinting required for all travelers working in New Mexico
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to Emergency Department patients using the nursing process in accordance with state Nurse Practice Act and hospital policy
- Responsibilities include thorough patient assessments, medication administration and monitoring, delegation of care priorities, and supervision of assigned personnel
- Maintains clinical competencies and applies critical thinking and scientific judgment in the planning and delivery of safe patient care
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local travelers are not eligible
- Travelers who have worked at any CHS facility as permanent staff within the past 2 years are not eligible
- RTO is limited to 1 request per 6-week schedule; requests must be less than 1 week in duration
- RTO blackout periods apply: 1 summer and 1 winter holiday, dependent on department needs
- Block scheduling is not approved
- Scrub color: no specific color required — full uniform expected
