Job Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license or confirmation that the application process has been initiated
• At least 1 year of recent nursing experience required; 2 years of emergency or acute care experience preferred
• At least 1 prior travel nursing assignment preferred
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS or ENPC, and TNCC or TNS
• Ability to recognize and respond to life-threatening rhythms and emergent patient changes
• Comfort with a busy emergency department environment and variable patient acuity
• Experience with titrating critical drips preferred
• Candidate must be able to complete a negative drug screen

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency nursing care to patients of all ages, from newborns to older adults
• Assess, stabilize, and monitor patients with a wide range of conditions, including trauma, strokes, cardiac events, and critical illness
• Support care for critically ill patients, including those requiring vasopressor and cardiac drip management
• Collaborate with physicians, charge nurses, techs, respiratory therapy, and the broader care team to deliver efficient care
• Interpret cardiac rhythms and respond quickly to changes in patient condition
• Assist with trauma and critical patient care as needed
• Perform labs and support department workflow alongside ED techs and phlebotomy resources
• Maintain accurate documentation in EPIC and follow department policies and scheduling expectations
