Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN)

Schedule

Nights, three 12-hour shifts per week. 7 pm - 7 am. Must be able to cover mid-shifts as needed.

Job Description

The Emergency Department has an excellent opportunity for an experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse. In this fast-paced position, the ED RN provides direct care, evaluates outcomes, consults with other specialties as required, and adjusts the nursing care process as indicated to ensure optimal patient care. Working well under pressure, our RNs collaborate with other health team members to coordinate medical and nursing management of patient care. The ED is very busy, with nine beds and over 15,000 patients seen per year. The department is currently undergoing an expansion, enhancing the patient care experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a high-pressure environment.
• Evaluate patient outcomes and adjust care plans as necessary.
• Consult with other specialties to coordinate patient management.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to deliver comprehensive care.
• Learn quickly and actively participate as a proactive team member.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current VT or compact multi-state RN License required.
• BLS and ACLS certification required.
• Minimum of 3 years of ER RN experience required.
• TNCC certification preferred.
• Familiarity with Meditech or ability to learn quickly is required.
