Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a busy, high-acuity Emergency Department requiring prior travel experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• General, non-trauma Emergency Department treating adolescents to geriatrics
• 59-bed unit averaging 165-175 patients per day with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
• STEMI and Stroke Certified facility
• Day shift schedule, 4x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Every other weekend required unless otherwise specified
• Rare floating within facility and scope of practice
• Uses Epic EMR and Pyxis medication system

Requirements

• Active GA or Compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required, with 2-3 completed ER travel contracts preferred
• Epic EMR experience required
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS
• SANE and TNCC certifications preferred
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Experience with pediatric and adult emergency care including trauma, cardiac, respiratory, neurological, and psychiatric presentations

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care across a wide range of conditions including trauma, cardiac events, respiratory distress, neurological emergencies, and behavioral health crises
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Maximum 7 days RTO per contract, which must be finalized at time of submission
• No RTO can be requested during orientation week or after offer/onsite
• Holiday coverage required for Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/Day
• If 1-2 holidays fall during the assignment, no holiday RTO may be requested; if 3 holidays fall during the assignment, one holiday RTO request may be reviewed for approval
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
• Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
• Former Piedmont perm, per diem, or FCSS employees must be away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before applying as a traveler
• Returning travelers who were previously unable to complete an assignment must complete one successful assignment outside Piedmont before reapplying
• Shift and schedule as listed are firm with no alternate requests permitted
