Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN for a night shift position at a teaching hospital, requiring CA RN license, BSN, and pediatric ED experience.
Details
- General Emergency Department serving combined adult/pediatric population
- Night shift, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM-7:30 AM)
- 1:4 patient ratio
- Epic charting system used
- Ability to float to other facilities within a 75+ mile radius when qualified
Requirements
- Active CA RN license required at time of submission
- BSN required
- AHA BLS, PALS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- CPI, NRP, OCN, SANE, and TNCC certifications preferred
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience required
- Pediatric ED experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Community hospital experience required
- Teaching hospital experience preferred and must be noted in employment history
- Trauma Level I and Level II experience preferred
- Prior travel assignment experience required within the last 12 months
- Two professional references from most recent employer required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide emergency care across a wide range of conditions including trauma, pediatrics, psychiatric, respiratory, neurological, and cardiac cases
- Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, arterial line management, and blood product administration
- Experience with ventilator care, BiPAP/CPAP, chest tube management, and ABG interpretation preferred
- Familiarity with emergency medications including IV vasopressors and procedural sedation
- Located within a Level I Trauma Center, STEMI certified, and Stroke certified facility
- Skilled in triage and isolation precautions/PPE protocols
- COVID-19 vaccination and booster required with no exceptions; proof of vaccination or scheduled booster appointment must be provided
- Any prior employment history with University of California medical facilities or their acquired facilities must be disclosed for rehire eligibility review
- All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed at time of submission and approved by the manager prior to start; no RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment
- Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate as travel candidates
- First-time travelers are not eligible for this position due to required prior travel experience
