Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN for a busy 32-bed unit requiring at least 2 years of ED experience and WA or compact RN licensure.

Details

• 32-bed Emergency Department with an average census of 90-110 patients daily
• Patient population includes general ED complaints, abdominal pain, chest pain, shortness of breath, behavioral health patients, and geriatrics, with rare pediatric and occasional L&D cases
• RN to patient ratio of 1:4 and PCT ratio of 1:6-12
• 12-hour night shifts on a 36-hour weekly schedule
• Every other weekend rotation required
• No on-call requirements
• No floating required
• Uses Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, and Pyxis medication dispensing system
• Supported by PCT, 24/7 receptionist/HUC, charge nurse, 24/7 respiratory therapy, 24/7 hospitalist, ED physicians and mid-level providers

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of ED experience required for traditional travelers
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, TNCC, and MOAB 1&2 or CPI certifications required
• Strong general ED clinical skills required
• Strong soft skills including teamwork, organization, communication, and time management required

Additional Information

• General hospital orientation followed by 1-2 shifts on the unit and 2-3 independent shifts to learn facility workflow
• Holiday coverage required as needed per unit
• Up to 7 days of RTO approved automatically, with additional requests requiring manager approval
• Scrub color is not restricted

• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
