Description

American Traveler is hiring a Level I Trauma Emergency Department RN requiring MA licensure, telemetry interpretation skills, and Level I trauma experience.

Details

  • Level I Trauma Center Emergency Department setting
  • Also covers Psych/Behavioral Health ED cases
  • Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30
  • Shift start time has rare flexibility of up to four hours earlier or later based on urgent staffing needs
  • Union facility with no special scheduling accommodations, must be able to work all 7 days of the week
  • EPIC EMR experience preferred

Requirements

  • Active MA RN license in hand required
  • Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and PALS required; NIHSS and TNCC preferred
  • Minimum 1.5 years (18 months) of RN experience required, 2+ years preferred
  • Level I Trauma Center experience required
  • Must be able to read and interpret telemetry
  • Skilled in respiratory care and management of ventilated patients
  • Skilled in cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and interpretation/management of dysrhythmias
  • Triage skills required
  • Two professional references required, with at least one from a Nurse Manager or higher
  • Candidates with prior disciplinary actions on their nursing license cannot be considered

Additional Information

  • Provide emergency nursing care within a Level I Trauma Center, including triage and management of critical and behavioral health patients
  • Must pass a Pass/Fail telemetry exam (80% passing score) and a Pass/Fail medication exam during orientation, each with only one attempt allowed
  • Failure to pass either exam will result in immediate cancellation of the assignment
  • Multiple study materials will be provided during the compliance process and prior to start
  • Facility allows contract lengths between 13-26 weeks, with options for 36 or 48 hours per week
  • One major winter holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's) must be included in requested time off
  • Priority given to candidates with minimal requested time off and those accepting 26-week contracts
  • Up to 14 days of requested time off may be submitted for review, with no time off allowed during the first week of the assignment
  • Local candidates are accepted at the same bill rate within a 200-mile radius
  • Returning staff must have a 12-month separation from the health system
  • First-time travelers are not preferred for this position
