Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Dept position at a Level I Trauma Center requiring MA licensure and telemetry skills.

Details

  • Work in the Emergency Department of a Level I Trauma Center
  • Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM)
  • Shift start time may be flexed up to 4 hours earlier or later based on urgent critical department staffing needs
  • Union facility with no special scheduling accommodations; must be able to work all 7 days
  • EPIC EMR experience preferred
  • Cares for psych/behavioral health ED patients
  • Performs triage, cardiac monitoring, and emergency response
  • Manages and interprets dysrhythmias
  • Provides care for ventilated and respiratory patients

Requirements

  • Active MA RN license in hand required
  • Minimum 1.5 years of experience required; 2+ years preferred
  • Level I Trauma Center experience required
  • Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, PALS
  • NIHSS and TNCC certifications preferred
  • Must be able to read and interpret telemetry
  • Skilled in cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and management of dysrhythmias
  • Two professional references required for consideration, with at least one from a Nurse Manager or higher
  • Candidates with priors on their nursing license will not be considered

Additional Information

  • Must pass a pass/fail telemetry exam and a pass/fail medication exam during orientation, each allowing only one attempt; failure results in immediate contract cancellation
  • Study materials will be provided during the compliance process and prior to first day
  • Facility is open to 13-26 week contracts, with 36 or 48 hours per week options
  • One major winter holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's) must be included in RTO
  • Priority given to candidates with minimal RTO and 26-week contract length
  • Up to 14 days of RTO may be submitted for review, with no RTO allowed in the first week
  • Local candidates accepted within a 200-mile radius at the same bill rate
  • Returning staff must have a 12-month separation from the health system
  • First-time travelers are not required for this position
