Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position at a Level I Trauma Center requiring active MA licensure and telemetry proficiency.

  • Union facility requiring flexibility to work all 7 days with no special scheduling accommodations
  • Shift start time may flex up to 4 hours earlier or later than posted start only for urgent critical staffing needs
  • Epic EMR preferred

Requirements

  • Active MA RN license in hand required
  • Minimum 1.5 years of ED experience required, 2+ years preferred
  • Level I Trauma Center experience required
  • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS
  • Preferred certifications: NIHSS, TNCC
  • Must be able to read and interpret telemetry/dysrhythmias
  • Skills in respiratory care, ventilated patient care, and cardiac monitoring/emergency response required
  • Triage experience preferred
  • Experience in Psych/Behavioral Health ED setting
  • 2 professional references required, at least one from a Nurse Manager or higher
  • Candidates with prior disciplinary actions on their nursing license will not be considered

Additional Information

  • Provide emergency nursing care within a Level I Trauma Center setting
  • Complete pass/fail medication and telemetry exams during orientation, each allowing only 1 attempt; failure results in immediate contract cancellation
  • Study materials provided throughout compliance process and prior to first day
  • Facility allows 1 major winter holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's) to be included in requested time off
  • Priority given to candidates with minimal RTO requests and 26-week contract commitments
  • Up to 14 days of RTO may be submitted for review, with no RTO allowed during the first week of assignment
  • Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
  • Candidates must reside within 200 miles of the facility
  • Returning staff must have a 12-month separation from the health system
  • First-time travelers are not preferred for this position
