Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position at a Level I Trauma Center, requiring MA RN licensure and telemetry proficiency.

Details

• Emergency Department setting within a Level I Trauma Center
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
• Shift start time may occasionally flex up to 4 hours earlier or later based on urgent staffing needs
• Assignment length options range from 13-26 weeks with 36 or 48 hours per week available
• Union facility with no special scheduling accommodations; must be able to work all 7 days
• Epic EMR experience preferred

Requirements

• Active MA RN license in hand required
• Minimum 1.5 years of RN experience required, 2+ years preferred
• Level I Trauma Center experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS
• Preferred certifications: NIHSS, TNCC
• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry, including dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Skilled in respiratory care and management of ventilated patients
• Cardiac monitoring and emergency response experience required
• Triage skills preferred
• Experience with Psych/Behavioral Health ED patients
• 2 professional references required, including one from a Nurse Manager or higher

Additional Information

• Must pass a pass/fail medication exam and a pass/fail telemetry (EKG) exam during orientation, each with only 1 attempt allowed
• Failure to pass either exam will result in immediate contract cancellation
• Study materials will be provided during compliance and pre-start process
• Pre-start modules take 1-2 hours; orientation modules vary in length
• One major winter holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's) must be included in requested time off
• Up to 14 days of RTO may be submitted for review, with no RTO allowed in the first week
• Priority given to candidates with minimal RTO and 26-week contract length
• Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate within a 75-mile radius
• Candidates must reside within 200 miles for consideration
• Returning staff must have a 12-month separation from the health system
• Candidates cannot be submitted to more than one position within the system at a time
