Description

American Traveler is hiring an Emergency Department RN for a Level II Trauma Center requiring 2+ years of ER experience and NC or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Emergency Department in a Level II Trauma Center treating adult patients including STEMI, stroke, and Level 2 trauma cases
• Approximately 170 visits per day across 53 rooms/beds
• Patient ratios: 3:1 non-critical (4:1 with hallway beds during callouts), 2:1 critical patients, 5:1 medical boarders
• 12-hour night shifts, 18:45-07:15
• Every other weekend required
• No call requirement
• No floating required
• Uses PYXIS, EPIC, and SBAR charting systems
• Navy blue scrubs required

Requirements

• Active RN license (NC or Compact) required
• Minimum 2 years of ER nursing experience required
• Required certifications: TNCC, ACLS, NIHSS, MOAB, and BLS
• ENPC certification preferred
• Trauma experience preferred
• Required skills: IV starts, triage, telemetry, and conscious sedation
• Epic charting experience required
• Skills include IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, ventilator patient care, cardiac monitoring, and dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care to adult patients including cardiac, stroke, and trauma cases
• Weekly orientation of 36 or 48 hours
• Must complete pre-start and annual online training modules
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates accepted at a lower rate within 50 miles of the facility
• Former Novant Health or New Hanover PERM/PRN/EP employees must wait 12 months before reapplying
• Up to 7 days of RTO can be auto-approved if not falling on a holiday; no RTO allowed during the first week of assignment
• Must work 2 of 3 major holidays
• Travel pairs allowed if on different units with separate schedules and transportation
