Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring a NC or compact license and Level II trauma experience.

Details

• Level II Trauma Center Emergency Department setting
• Adult patient population including STEMI, stroke, and Level 2 trauma cases
• Approximately 170 visits per day across 53 rooms/beds
• Patient ratios: Non-critical 3:1 (4:1 with hallway beds during callouts), Critical 2:1, Medical boarders 5:1
• 12-hour night shifts, 18:45-07:15
• No call requirement
• No floating required
• Every other weekend required
• Uses PYXIS, EPIC, and SBAR charting systems

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of relevant RN experience
• Required certifications: TNCC, ACLS, NIHSS, MOAB, and BLS
• ENPC certification preferred
• Trauma experience preferred
• Required skills: IV starts, triage, telemetry, and conscious sedation
• Epic charting experience required
• Skills include IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, ventilator patient care, cardiac monitoring, and dysrhythmia management/interpretation
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care to a high-acuity adult patient population including trauma, cardiac, and stroke cases
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Orientation is 36 or 48 hours, conducted weekly
• Must work 2 of the 3 major holidays
• Up to 7 days of RTO can be auto-approved if not on a holiday; no RTO allowed during the first week of assignment; no additional RTO after signing
• First-time travelers will be considered
• Local candidates within 50 miles accepted at a lower rate
• Former Novant/New Hanover PERM/PRN/EP employees must wait 12 months before applying and disclose prior employment details
• Current travel per diem clinicians must choose between travel or per diem status, not both
• Travel pairs allowed if on different units and disclosed
