Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring CA RN license, ACLS, PALS, and recent EPIC experience.

Details

• Level III trauma center Emergency Department serving patients from newborns to geriatrics
• Night shift schedule, 1900-0730, working 3x12s or 4x12s
• 162-bed acute care facility with a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
• Uses EPIC EMR system

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC certifications required
• Recent EPIC experience required
• Minimum three years of ER experience required
• Associate Degree in Nursing required, Bachelor's Degree preferred
• No prior license actions accepted

Additional Information

• Provides triage, treatment, and discharge care for ED patients across all age groups
• Performs accurate triage assessments and notifies ED physicians of abnormal findings
• Delivers patient education on medication side effects, including discharge instructions
• Skilled in medication administration, IV therapy including blood products, and catheter/drain care
• Recognizes and manages cardiac, respiratory, and other emergent conditions
• Provides care during Code Blue, Code Stroke, Sepsis, and Trauma activations
• Interprets ECG rhythms and manages care during life-threatening emergencies
• Located on the Central California Coast near Avila Beach and Pismo Beach
• Accepts local candidates at the same rate as travel positions
• Candidates with more than 5 days of requested time off will not be considered
• Travelers may only work at one hospital within this health system at a time
