Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Dept position requiring Level I trauma experience and a MA RN license

Details

  • Emergency Department at a Level I Trauma Center
  • Night shift, 4x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
  • Shift start time may occasionally flex up to 4 hours earlier or later based on urgent staffing needs
  • Union facility with no special scheduling accommodations; must be able to work all 7 days
  • EPIC experience preferred

Requirements

  • Active MA RN license in hand required
  • Minimum 18 months of RN experience required, 2+ years preferred
  • Level I Trauma Center experience required
  • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS
  • Preferred certifications: NIHSS, TNCC
  • Must be able to read and interpret telemetry
  • Skills in respiratory care, ventilated patient management, cardiac monitoring, and dysrhythmia interpretation/management
  • Experience in triage and psych/behavioral health ED preferred
  • Two professional references required, one from a Nurse Manager or higher

Additional Information

  • Provide emergency care in a high-acuity Level I trauma setting including triage and dysrhythmia management
  • Must pass two pass/fail exams during orientation: a medication exam and a telemetry exam, each with only 1 attempt allowed; failure results in immediate contract cancellation
  • Study materials provided during compliance process and orientation to help prepare for exams
  • Assignment length available from 13-26 weeks with options for 36 or 48 hours per week
  • Priority given to candidates with minimal RTO requests and 26-week contract length
  • Up to 14 days of RTO may be submitted for review, with no RTO allowed during the first week
  • One major winter holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's) must be included in RTO if requested
  • Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate within a 75-mile radius
  • Returning staff must have a 12-month separation from the health system
  • Candidates with prior disciplinary actions on their nursing license cannot be considered
