Travel Nursing Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,460–$1,540

• Schedule: 7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.; rotating weekends; no call
• Shift Duration: 12-hour night shifts

• Work Setting: On-site, 9-bed emergency department
• Patient Ratio: Approximately 4 patients per registered nurse

Emergency Room Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Texas
• At least 1 year of recent emergency department or emergency room nursing experience
• Proficiency in triage, Emergency Severity Index (ESI), and emergency patient assessment
• Experience administering medications and managing critically ill patients
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications
• Strong critical-thinking, prioritization, communication, and teamwork skills
• Ability to remain calm and adaptable in a fast-paced emergency care setting

Emergency Department RN Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to emergency department patients across a range of acuity levels
• Perform timely triage and emergency assessments using Emergency Severity Index (ESI) principles
• Administer medications and monitor patients for therapeutic response or adverse reactions
• Deliver trauma and stroke care, including emergency stabilization
• Perform IV insertion, EKGs, cardiac monitoring, and other emergency department procedures
• Assist with moderate sedation according to established protocols
• Recognize changes in patient condition and promptly escalate concerns to the appropriate care team
• Collaborate with nurses, providers, and support staff to promote safe, efficient patient flow
