Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a 13-week Emergency Dept travel contract at a freestanding 24/7 emergency center in Boerne, TX, requiring 2+ years of ER experience and an active TX RN license.

Details

  • Full-service, freestanding 24/7 emergency center serving Boerne, TX and surrounding communities
  • Emergency Department with 15 treatment rooms, including trauma/cardiac care rooms, fast-track non-urgent rooms, and 24-hour observation beds
  • Patient population includes chest pain, stroke, STEMI, trauma, pediatric emergencies, MVAs, overdose, and other acute conditions
  • On-site diagnostic capabilities include a 16-slice CT scanner, dedicated x-ray suite, ultrasound, and telemetry equipment
  • Day shift: 7:00 AM–7:30 PM; Night shift: 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
  • Rotating weekends required (approximately 4 weekend shifts per schedule); holiday coverage per unit policy
  • No on-call requirements
  • Floating to other units is required per the Methodist Floating Policy
  • EMR: Meditech (experience preferred)
  • 13-week contract

Requirements

  • Active TX RN license required; temp licenses will not be accepted
  • Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
  • CPI certification required (SAMA, MAB, or ACPMA may be accepted in lieu of CPI per facility requirements)
  • Minimum 2 years of recent ER experience required
  • US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
  • One professional reference required
  • Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — no local candidates accepted

Additional Information

  • Procedures performed include urgent care, stroke and STEMI response, and pediatric emergency care; critically ill patients are stabilized on-site and transported to a Methodist hospital in San Antonio
  • Meditech EMR experience is preferred
  • RN scrub color: navy scrub top and pants; navy or white scrub jacket
  • Dress code requires neat and clean appearance; body art should be covered whenever possible; visible piercings other than ears are prohibited
  • No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
  • Certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start date
