Emergency Department Registered Nurse Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Texas
• At least 2 years of recent Emergency Department nursing experience
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Recent experience caring for trauma, stroke, and chest pain patients
• Travel nursing experience preferred
• Strong patient assessment, prioritization, triage, and emergency response skills
• Ability to work 12-hour day shifts in a busy emergency care setting

Emergency Department Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients presenting with emergent and urgent conditions
• Rapidly assess, triage, and prioritize patients based on acuity
• Monitor patient status and respond promptly to changes in condition
• Care for patients experiencing trauma, stroke, chest pain, and other acute medical concerns
• Administer medications and treatments safely according to orders and established protocols
• Collaborate with providers and the interdisciplinary care team to coordinate timely interventions
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic medical record
• Support patient and family education throughout the emergency care experience
