Registered Nurse - Emergency Room

Schedule

This is a full-time position with a shift from 7 AM to 7 PM.

Job Description

The competent Registered Nurse in the Emergency Room practices independently and demonstrates awareness of all relevant aspects of patient care. This role involves providing both routine and complex care while continuously developing the ability to manage contingencies in clinical nursing.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care utilizing the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families according to the RN’s level of practice.
• Administer medications and treatments following appropriate protocols, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness.
• Document patient history, symptoms, medication, and care provided.
• Assess learning needs and provide education to patients and their families, identifying issues and resources.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, preferred.
• 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty preferred.
• BLS (AHA only), ACLS (AHA only), PALS (AHA only), and TNCC certifications required.
• RN License in the state of Texas or compact.
