Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN for a 13-week travel assignment requiring Level II/III trauma experience and TNCC certification.

Details

• Emergency Department with 16 beds and 8 hall chairs
• Staffing includes charge nurse, triage nurse, 4-5 staff nurses, unit secretary, and tech(s) per shift
• Patient ratio of 1:4, primarily low acuity ESI 4 & 5, may take up to 6
• Uses cardiac monitors, Baxter IV pumps, HP monitors, and Tonopen equipment
• EMR is Meditech with vital signs flowing directly into the chart
• Day shift runs 7A-7P
• Mandatory shift huddles at 7am and 7pm unless providing critical care at that time

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• Minimum 1 year of recent emergency department experience
• Level II or Level III trauma experience required
• Required certifications: TNCC, ENPC or PALS, ACLS, and BLS
• CEN, TCRN, and CPI preferred
• Greater than two years of ED experience preferred
• No employment gaps of 90+ days or more within the past 12 months
• US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration (no Canadian SSN accepted)
• One professional reference required

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include assessments, documentation, medication administration, wound care, splinting, IV starts, urine collection, and lab draws
• Care provided for patients across ESI levels 1 through 5
• Facility is transitioning from a Level IV to a Level II trauma hospital
• Focus on timely care for stroke, STEMI, sepsis, and trauma patients
• Royal blue scrubs preferred
• Team spirit encouraged on Sundays with seasonal team jersey wear
• EMTALA training is mandatory
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates will not be considered
