Emergency Department RN Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of professional Registered Nurse experience, preferably in an emergency department or acute care setting
• Active Registered Nurse license eligible for practice in Kentucky
• Current required nursing credentials and certifications must be completed before the start date
• Strong patient assessment, prioritization, communication, and clinical judgment skills
• Ability to work 12-hour overnight shifts and maintain 36 hours per week
• Travel assignment eligibility: Candidates must reside at least 60 miles from the assignment location

Emergency Department Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide timely, compassionate emergency nursing care to patients presenting with a broad range of urgent and emergent conditions
• Perform focused patient assessments, identify changes in clinical status, and prioritize care according to acuity
• Administer medications and treatments safely while monitoring patient responses
• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to support effective diagnosis and treatment
• Assist with emergency procedures and respond promptly to rapidly changing clinical situations
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, follow-up care, and discharge instructions
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in accordance with clinical and regulatory standards
