Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN for a 13-week night shift contract requiring at least 2 years of ER experience and TNCC/NIHSS certifications.

Details

• Work in the Emergency Department of a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend required
• Call requirements apply
• Floating required as needed per facility policy
• Uses Meditech documentation system
• Procedures performed on unit include conscious sedation, intubation assistance, behavioral health watch, sepsis management, stroke (tPA administration), and chest pain/heart alert protocols

Requirements

• Active TX RN license or compact license required (temporary license not accepted)
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS or ENPC, TNCC, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of recent ER experience required
• CEN certification preferred
• Meditech experience preferred
• Strong teamwork and communication skills preferred
• No employment gaps equaling 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Provide emergency department nursing care across a variety of acute conditions including sepsis, stroke, and chest pain presentations
• Participate in conscious sedation and intubation procedures as needed
• Navy scrub color required with specific undershirt/jacket color restrictions
• Nail, hair, tattoo, and piercing grooming standards enforced per facility dress code
• Must adhere to facility floating guidelines and attendance policies
• Local candidates are not accepted; a 50-mile radius rule applies with no exceptions
