Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ED RN for a 13-week travel contract at a high-volume adult Emergency Department in Massachusetts, requiring an active MA RN license and AHA-only certifications.

Details

  • 65-bed, pod-based Adult Emergency Department with a separate pediatric pod and dedicated Acute Mental Health area
  • High-volume unit averaging 230 patient visits per day
  • All patient populations served
  • Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4
  • Rotating day/evening/night shifts (7a–7p, 11a–11p, and 7p–7a); rotation frequency is low
  • Every other weekend (EOW) required
  • 36 hours per week
  • Floating required
  • EMR: Epic (ASAP module); charting experience required
  • Free on-site parking available at this location

Requirements

  • Active MA RN license required; no pending or conditional licenses accepted
  • AHA-certified BLS, ACLS, and PALS required; all certifications must be AHA only
  • TNCC and NRP certifications strongly preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department nursing experience required
  • Proficiency in general ED skills including assessment, documentation, IV placement, phlebotomy, EKG, cardiac monitoring, point-of-care testing, splinting, critical thinking, and patient education
  • Flu vaccine required; no religious or medical exemptions accepted
  • 2 professional references required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Candidates with a permanent residence within 60 miles of Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston are considered local and will receive a reduced pay rate
  • Timekeeping system: UKG/Kronos
  • Any requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed at the time of submission
  • Parking at Boston-area locations is not validated; public parking rates range from $17–$22 per day — this position includes free on-site parking
