Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position in Massachusetts, requiring 18 months of ER experience, Epic proficiency, and an active MA RN license.

Details

  • General Emergency Department serving a combined adult and pediatric patient population
  • Community hospital work setting
  • Night shift schedule: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM (5x8-hour shifts)
  • Every other weekend required
  • Every other holiday (EOH) required
  • Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

  • Active MA RN license required and must be in hand prior to consideration
  • Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS
  • Minimum 18 months of ER experience required
  • Community hospital experience required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Proficiency in triage, IV therapy/phlebotomy, central line care, arterial line management, blood product administration, and BiPAP/CPAP management
  • Competency with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, 12-lead EKG/ECG acquisition, and emergency medications including IV vasopressors and procedural sedation
  • Experience managing psychiatric patients, including acute psychosis, suicidal patients, psychiatric holds, and violent behavior management
  • Two professional references required for consideration, with at least one from a Nurse Manager or above
  • Candidates must have a clear nursing license with no prior disciplinary actions

Additional Information

  • Pass/fail telemetry test and pass/fail medication exam are required during orientation; a score of 80% or higher is needed to pass, and only one attempt is allowed — failure will result in assignment cancellation
  • Pre-start online modules are required (approximately 1–2 hours) and must be completed prior to the start date
  • This is a union facility; no special scheduling accommodations can be made, and candidates must be available to work all 7 days of the week
  • Up to 14 days of requested time off (RTO) may be submitted for review; no RTO is permitted during the first week of the assignment
  • Local candidates are accepted; RNs must reside more than 200 miles from the facility to qualify for travel pay rates
  • Candidates who have previously worked within this health system must have a minimum 12-month separation before being eligible
