Description

American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for an Emergency Department position requiring FL or compact RN license and prior Level 1 resuscitation experience.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting with 210 staffed beds
• Emergency Department unit
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours), 19:00-7:00
• 13-week assignment length
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required within scope
• Uses Meditech charting system

Requirements

• Active FL or compact RN license required
• Minimum 2.5 years of ED experience required
• Minimum 1 year of neuro/stroke experience required
• Minimum 2 previous travel assignments required
• Experience with Level 1 resuscitation patients required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS
• TNCC certification preferred
• SANE certification preferred
• Meditech charting experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Trauma Level I and Level II experience preferred
• Prior charge nurse experience preferred

Additional Information

• Must reside more than 30 miles from the facility
• Skills include IV therapy, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care, and phlebotomy
• Respiratory skills include BiPAP/CPAP management, ventilated patient care, chest tube management, ABG interpretation, and intubation
• Medication administration includes continuous IV paralytics/sedation, emergency medications, IV vasopressors, and procedural sedation
• Cardiac skills include dysrhythmia interpretation/management and 12-lead EKG/ECG acquisition
• Neurological skills include CVA and neuro-trauma care
• Experience with psychiatric patients including acute psychosis, drug overdose, and managing violent behavior
• Experience with trauma cases including gunshot wounds, head injury, and near drowning
• Orthopedic skills including splint application and ortho trauma management
• Isolation precautions/PPE and triage skills required
• RTO limited to no more than 10 days and requires adding 2 weeks to the assignment, with no RTO during the first or last week
• Holiday coverage required: 1 Holiday and 1 Evening shift if 1-2 holidays fall within the assignment, or 1 Evening and 2 Holidays if 3 holidays fall within the assignment
• Any scrub color accepted, but no t-shirts, sweatshirts, or logos from other organizations
• Free parking available in any unrestricted space
• Prior travel experience required for this position
