Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a combined Adult/Pediatric Emergency Department position requiring prior travel experience, community hospital background, and a full suite of emergency certifications.
Details
- Combined Adult/Pediatric Emergency Department setting in a community hospital
- Department includes 40 beds (11 hallway beds and 29 standard beds), covering ambulance triage, ED holding, and lobby triage
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- Schedule is posted every 6 weeks with shift start times of 0700, 0900, 1200, 1500, and 1900
- Every other weekend required
- Floating between campuses and all facilities within the state is expected; refusal to float may result in termination of the assignment
- Patient ratio of 1:4–5
- Epic EMR (required)
- Skills utilized include: breathing treatments, chest tube setup/care, CPAP/BiPAP, procedural sedation, RSI, trach care, ventilator management, blood/blood product administration, cardioversion/defibrillation, cooling/warming blankets, CRRT/dialysis, 12-lead EKG acquisition, and rapid infuser use
Requirements
- Active WA state RN license or compact RN license required
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS
- Minimum 1 year of ED nursing experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required — first-time travelers will not be considered
- Community hospital experience required
- Minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting required for consideration
- Full SSN and DOB required for consideration
- Trauma Level I or II experience preferred
- Charge nurse experience preferred
- Level II or III trauma experience preferred
- Epic EMR experience required
Additional Information
- Candidates are expected to triage, assess, and manage a diverse emergency patient population including trauma, neurological, cardiac, pediatric, and respiratory cases
- Former permanent employees of any Providence-affiliated facility must have been separated from the health system for a minimum of 3 months before being eligible for a travel position
- Former permanent staff must not reside within 50 miles of the facility to be eligible
- Minimal to no RTO is strongly preferred for this position
- Candidates must disclose any prior work history at any Providence facility (permanent, travel, or per-diem) as part of the consideration process
